Examples of Issues Found During Inspection

As experienced home inspectors, we have come across almost anything you could think of. Here are some examples of the most outrageous issues we have seen during our inspections.

Fire Hazards

If your fireplace requires a certain amount of clearance, and is clearly marked as such, you should definitely not build a storage closet around it and keep highly flammable items there. And your dryer vent shouldn’t be emptying into your attic.

HVAC Issues

When installing HVAC systems, there should be enough fire clearance around the system, and it should be easily accessible-unlike the one covered in foam. If you want your HVAC system to operate at its full capacity, make sure to check the levels to prevent the unit from icing.
